Recently, Lao Du has been criticized for his anti-drug campaign, and the scandals related to him have been increasing!
Previously, the reason why Lao Du's drug dealer reward policy was exposed was because three so-called former prisoners who had been instructed to kill drug dealers testified against him at the hearing.
This time, as Lao Du was overwhelmed by the anti-drug war, the appearance of a witness at the hearing struck him hard again!
Recently, a witness named Colonel Eduardo Acierto appeared via video link in court, revealing shocking news!
He accused Duterte of harshly cracking down on drug crimes while turning a blind eye to his confidants involved in drug trafficking, even using various means to protect them.
The confidants Acierto referred to were Yang Hongming, who served as the presidential economic adviser during Duterte's administration, and Yang's friend Allan Lim. Acierto said that as a police colonel investigating drug crimes, he discovered evidence of Yang and Allan Lim's involvement in illegal drug trading and reported it.
Unexpectedly, instead of drawing attention, the report led to suppression and dismissal by Lao Du, and even orders to silence him.
According to him, he was a police colonel and head of the drug enforcement department involved in several drug investigations but was dismissed in 2018.
In July this year, he appeared on social media, stating that the reason for his dismissal was his investigation into a drug case involving Lao Du's confidants, leading to multiple police chases and threats to his life. He mentioned a bounty of 50 million pesos on his head.
He recalled that in 2017, he and his colleagues drafted a confidential drug report, which detailed Yang Hongming and Chinese businessman Allan Lim's involvement in illegal drug trading.
However, after handing the report to the then-chief of the Philippine National Police, Dela Rosa, not only did he take no action, but Acierto himself was inexplicably involved in a drug case and subsequently dismissed. Those involved in the investigation were kidnapped and shot.
More fatally, the head of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) also testified in court, claiming that Lin Weixiong from Pharmally Pharmaceutical and Allan Lim mentioned in Acierto's report are the same person!
And this Lin Weixiong was the business partner of Yang Hongming, Lao Du's former economic adviser!
During the pandemic, it was Pharmally that signed a government pandemic contract worth at least 4 billion pesos with the Philippine government, supplying pandemic materials during Duterte's term.
It is reported that the company's annual net sales reached 7.4 billion pesos.
Notably, in that year, Lin Weixiong purchased two properties in Dubai worth 1 billion pesos.
One of them, bought in 2021 in the Emirates Hills luxury area of Dubai, was sold the following year, making a profit of 370 million pesos.
The other luxury villa was co-owned by Lin Weixiong and Yang Hongming!
As for Yang Hongming himself, since 2021, he has been frequently visiting Dubai, and in May this year, sensing the danger of a POGO investigation, he immediately fled to Dubai and disappeared.
(It is noted that Yang Hongming settled in the Philippines in 1999 but only started paying taxes in 2018, evading a significant amount of taxes.)
Moreover, the two were also involved in POGO operations.
Yang Hongjiang opened two accounts with the Philippine Commercial Bank, which are closely related to the gambling center in Banban City, Danleng Province, and its cryptocurrency investment activities.
The AMLC report shows that from 2018 to 2022, these two accounts conducted 364 transactions, totaling 3.299 billion pesos. During this period, these accounts received 1.9 billion pesos and spent 1.339 billion pesos.
The AMLC further pointed out that Yu Zheng Can, as a shareholder, was heavily involved in cash flow from 2019 to 2022, a period when his companies Hongsheng and its predecessor Zun Yuan Technology were operating at their peak. These companies are considered to be among the main operators of gambling fraud cases. These companies are also associated with Guo Huaping, Wu Duanren, and others.
In addition to POGO, this group is also related to drug cases.
Intelligence shows that since the early 2000s, Yang Hongjiang set up drug laboratories in Mindanao, including a factory raided in Davao City in 2004, where police seized over 300 kilograms of the drug "Shabu," valued at over 300 million pesos. He also had connections with Johnson Co, a drug lord based in China.
Moreover, Lin Weixiong was also implicated in drug smuggling; in 2018, his laboratory in Cavite was raided by the drug enforcement agency, seizing drugs and equipment worth 10.4 billion pesos. Yang Hongjiang had provided drug transportation documents, assisting in smuggling drugs into the Philippines.
Furthermore, Lin Weixiong and Yang Hongming were also involved in multiple complex corporate networks, associated with POGO companies involved in illegal spinach operations. Lin Weixiong's wife is also running again for Congresswoman of the fifth district of Quezon City! The three are founders of the Fudesheng Group, with Yang Hongming serving as president, and Lao Du has even campaigned for them!
Yang Hongming's brothers, Tony Yang and Hongjiang Yang, have also been involved in numerous criminal cases.
Years ago, the port of Tony Yang's Sanjia Steel Company was accused of smuggling drugs and setting up a fraud park nearby. He also served as president of Oro One Corporation, which is closely related to Lin Weixiong.
Oro One Corporation's services for Xionwei Technologies Inc's email were also used by another POGO—Brickhartz.
Similar email addresses were also found in early investigations of Banban. Gerald Cruz, an executive of Brickhartz Technology Company, is also closely related to Pharmally Pharmaceutical. Moreover, Gerald Cruz is also involved with the Full Win company, whose president is Yang Hongming.
In short, it's a complex web of relationships!
By mid-September, Tony Yang was arrested, but his case has not been mentioned again after several hearings.
In mid-July, the Philippine Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) also stated that Michael Yang's brother, Hongjiang Yang, was involved in a cryptocurrency fraud case worth up to 3.3 billion pesos.
And so on and so forth, this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Although the rule of law in the Philippines is lacking, the Yang family and their gang have built such a vast business empire over the years, which inevitably raises suspicions that they have exploited Lao Du's reputation. While Tony Yang was arrested, Yang Hongming managed to escape the Philippines early, yet no arrest warrant has been issued for him, raising further suspicions.
