A Chinese man was recently found dead at a reservoir on the border between Thailand and Cambodia, with a 20 kg iron block tied to his body. The police confirmed that this was a case of kidnapping, extortion, and murder.

According to reports, the victim was a 30-year-old man from Fujian named Zeng Mougan. Zeng disappeared after driving out one evening, and his body was discovered three days later near a reservoir in Poipet, Cambodia. The police found multiple bruises on his body, indicating clear signs of violence.

Preliminary investigations by the Cambodian authorities indicated that the case involved four Chinese nationals, one of whom has been arrested while the other three may have fled to Thailand.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the victim's car had been parked in a residential area with its license plate removed. Surveillance footage led the police to a silver Hyundai Starex that had entered the residential area with the victim's vehicle. The suspect, Sun Mou, was eventually arrested at a car wash in Poipet, where he was found driving the silver vehicle.

The initial investigation revealed that Zeng Mougan was extorted for $300,000 and a gold necklace during the kidnapping. Sun Mou has confessed to his crimes and revealed that his three accomplices had fled to Thailand. Currently, the Cambodian police are cooperating with Thai law enforcement to capture the fugitives, and the case is still being processed.
