An armed robbery occurred in Makati, and the police quickly solved the case and arrested two suspects.
It is reported that two Japanese victims were walking along Don Chino Roces Avenue when they were threatened by two men on motorcycles with guns, demanding their valuables. Eventually, the robbers took a mobile phone and about 10,000 Japanese yen in cash (approximately 4,000 pesos).
After the incident, the victims reported the crime the next morning, and the police began to track down the suspects based on the description of the motorcycle provided by them. After a rapid search, the police soon found the motorcycle ridden by the suspects nearby and successfully apprehended Wendell, 26, and Jeffrey, 23.
The two tried to resist arrest but were eventually subdued. The police found a handgun, a magazine with 5 live rounds, and 10,000 Japanese yen in cash on the suspects.
According to the police, these two suspects are habitual robbers and are suspected of being involved in a robbery gang targeting foreigners. The police remind the public, especially foreigners, to stay vigilant during the holiday season to ensure personal safety. The two suspects are currently detained, facing charges of robbery and illegal possession of firearms.
