The provincial government signed the decree that endorses the alliance between the IPLyC and the State Lottery of Paraná.
Argentina.- The government of the Province of Buenos Aires, through Decree 2776/24, formalized the agreement between the Provincial Institute of Lotteries and Casinos (IPLyC) of Buenos Aires and the State Lottery of Paraná (Lottopar), Brazil.
The collaboration agreement stipulates that the lotteries may exchange data and information for the «prevention, blocking, and combat of illegal gambling operators». It also outlines the implementation of actions for the structuring and management of gambling, focusing on illegal gambling. Additionally, projects, activities, and/or events of mutual interest will be carried out for this purpose. The agreement is valid for 24 months and does not involve any transfer of resources between the parties.
This agreement between the lotteries comes after the Province announced a series of measures aimed at combating compulsive gambling and illegal betting. The agreement had been signed in April of this year, but it is only now, with the signing of the decree, that it will come into effect.
At that time, after the signing of the agreement, the head of Lottopar, Daniel Romanowski, said: "For Lottopar, this partnership is important and will further strengthen the sports betting and lottery market in Paraná. We are creating a link with one of the most developed countries in this sector and also with much to do in terms of good practices in safe and responsible gaming. The IPLyC is a benchmark in South America and I am sure that we will continue to evolve together towards an increasingly strengthened lottery market."
For his part, Gonzalo Atanasoff, head of the IPLyC added: "Lottopar is a benchmark in management among the state lotteries of Brazil and for the Institute it is an honor and a pride to seal this alliance. The doors are always open and soon we will closely know how Lottopar works."
