The unit has partnered with fantasy football operator Dribble to launch a new platform for grassroots football, which can track the performance of amateur players and rank them weekly.
The beta version of the platform has been launched in five amateur leagues in the UK, providing a system for over 600 players to track their performance and interact with the community.
Participants can record their match performance, view detailed metrics, and vote for the best player.
Rankings and profiles are updated weekly, aiming to create a competitive and community-centered environment.
The Unit co-founder Paddy Casey said: "By providing amateur football players the opportunity to be stars in their own fantasy football leagues, Dribble brings an innovative and exciting platform to the market, which aligns with our sports background, making this an ideal collaboration."
Notably, Dribble combines Moneyball-inspired analytics with real-time player interaction.
Dribble CEO Kirk Flitton added: "Over the past six months, we have raised early investments and turned the concept into a product. Without The Unit, this would not have been possible; they are a crucial part of making our ideas a reality."
Earlier this year, The Unit appointed Adam Noble as Chief Commercial Officer to strengthen its leadership team and expand its capabilities. Noble's background includes positions at PlayStar and Play'n GO, which helps The Unit meet various industry demands.
