Spain.- The National Federation of Recreational and Gambling Machines (FEMARA) announced the next edition of its Open Forum which will be held on February 25, 2025. In the context of its 45th anniversary, the organization will celebrate the sixth edition of this benchmark event in the sector.
According to reports, the event will highlight the trajectory and importance of the hospitality machine, analyzed from a social, cultural, and economic perspective.
Attendees at the VI Open Forum will participate in debates and presentations that will invite deep reflection on the impact of gaming on society. The event will seek to analyze the current state of the sector and explore its future evolution in a context of innovation and responsibility. The meeting will bring together experts, opinion leaders, and key players from various fields.
FEMARA invites participation in a conversation where it will analyze the situation of traditional bars, where recreational machines have become a significant leisure element that is an important part of their own activity.

In other news, the Government Council of Cantabria approved the extension for five more years of the suspension for the granting of licenses for the operation of type B1 and B5 recreational machines. The measure will remain in effect until at least 2029 and includes prize machines installed in bars, cafés, restaurants, and gaming halls.
The extension will come into effect starting October 31, the date on which the current regulation expires. With this decision, Cantabria restricts the granting of new licenses, a policy that has been maintained for almost two decades.
The Senate's Youth Commission unanimously approved a motion from the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE), with three amendments from the Popular Party (PP), urging the government to strengthen control measures on gaming among youth and adolescents.
