The Dutch Gaming Authority (KSA) has agreed to fund a pilot with Gamban to provide a one-year free service.
Gamban's software can block access to gambling websites and apps across all devices, aiding those who suffer from gambling-related harm.
Under the agreement with KSA, Dutch users can enjoy a one-year free Gamban subscription by contacting the national support service Loket Kansspel in their country. Additionally, Gamban will assist KSA in detecting unregulated sites within the Netherlands.
Gamban has previously established similar collaborations with many other regions including Norway, Finland, and the state of Ohio.
KSA Addiction Prevention Fund advisor Thomas Borghols stated: "Currently, KSA offers gamblers the option of self-exclusion through Cruks. However, Cruks is only applicable to operators holding a Dutch license. Gamban also provides players the opportunity to block access to illegal gambling sites. When used together, Cruks and Gamban can offer a perspective of recovery for players."
"Partnering with Loket Kansspel to distribute Gamban subscriptions is a logical choice for us, as they are the first point of contact for players seeking to discuss their gambling issues independently and without bias," he added.
Worth noting: Earlier this year, Gamban received the Platinum Certification from the 'Investors in People' organization.
Gamban co-founder Matt Zarb-Cousin added: "Implementing self-exclusion programs can lead to unintended consequences, exposing the most vulnerable individuals to black market operators. Combining blocking software with self-exclusion ensures devices cannot access both regulated and unregulated gambling sites and apps."
Loket Kansspel director Nathalie Smit commented: "At Loket Kansspel, we believe that controlling your online environment is crucial for overcoming gambling addiction."
"By partnering with Gamban, we help people control and manage their gambling behavior. We are pleased to offer people free gambling blocking software."
Additionally, this month, KSA condemned three providers for inappropriate advertising and targeting vulnerable groups. Recently, the National Bank of Saudi Arabia fined Alimaniere Sociedad Responsabilidad for offering unlicensed online gambling services to Dutch players.
