Netizen shares: Looking ahead to the future of the gambling industry after this sweep in the Philippines.

PASA users in the Philippines for over 5 years have a general understanding of the various situations and operational forms of major companies. Let's talk about their personal views on the future of the gambling industry in the Philippines:

The reason for discussing the Philippines, rather than Cambodia🇰🇭, Thailand🇹🇭, or Dubai🇦🇪, is because the Philippines is the only Southeast Asian country that has officially legalized gambling operations. If you are involved in fraud, you are not part of this discussion; your activities are illegal everywhere.

Currently, those in this industry can be roughly divided into five levels.

#The first type is concentrated in Makati BGC, mainly bilingual or multilingual technical positions, with high salaries, full benefits, and weekends off. These companies are strong and legal, and are not targeted in this cleanup.

#The second type includes large-scale corporate companies, primarily Chinese-speaking, with sports at the core, focusing on reputable and overseas markets. The salaries are not high, but the benefits are decent. These companies are ideal for those looking to coast along, depending on the department structure to determine how easy it is to blend in. These companies have been massively swept this time, with many people resigning.

#The third type, physical casinos, may not have a large number of people, but they are all compliant and legal, with no worries about being swept out the door.

#The fourth type involves small-scale fraud, kidnapping, scams, confinement, human trafficking, drugs, firearms, ammunition, and frequent appearances in entertainment venues, resulting in frequent police visits and high bail costs. This group is the target of the current Philippine policy, but with little effect.

#The fifth type includes other industries that cater to all of the above, such as restaurants, delivery services, intermediaries, and sales.

Among these five types, the second type, the large-scale corporate groups, actually suffer the most. Compared to the first type of legal technicians who are stable, and the third type of reliable offline entities, the fifth type is likely to selectively leave or shut down.

Importantly, the fourth type, the target of the Philippine government, will not be completely eradicated by this sweep. They will drive to more secluded villages and cities, continuing to engage in small-scale fraud and avoiding inspections. Many of them, not even on the passport blacklist, hardly care about government intentions. Thus, the Philippines will remain dangerous for the first, third, and fifth types in the coming years, and caution is necessary.

However, these small-scale fraudsters are already trapped; they are just the future performance metrics of the Philippine government. Over time, they will gradually be forced to find no refuge in the Philippines, making the social environment increasingly safer than before.

In the future, legal companies, bilingual or multilingual, will become the basic requirements in the gambling industry. Chinese people will no longer have the unique advantages they had around 2018, especially those with low education, poor learning abilities, slackers, gamblers, criminals, and those looking for shortcuts, will find it difficult to find suitable legal companies in the future.

In the past, we looked for jobs in keyword promotion, customer service, HR. Perhaps slightly stronger positions involved maintaining agents or operations.

But now times have changed. For Chinese speakers and foreign nationals who speak Chinese, UI, product, Linux system maintenance, C++, DBA, IT engineers, visual effects, audio and video editing, and those proficient in Chinese and English or multilingual communication, these have become more competitive core positions.

Regular gambling is not inherently a shady business, and does not deserve harsh criticism; it is a legitimately existing industry. Society and times are progressing, and learning is necessary everywhere to keep up with the times.

The Philippines will continue to open up the gambling industry and positions in the future, but will no longer welcome those with only a basic understanding of "how much" and "ok" and low educational backgrounds.

As for Cambodia, Dubai, and Thailand, my personal view is that no matter how hidden you are, the grey areas remain illegal. If there are choices, it's best not to engage in unsupported projects by the state. If unavoidable, take care of yourself. Days of living on the edge are helpless, but a peaceful future is worth looking forward to!

In conclusion, keep striving, as learning leads to progress and wealth!
