Sportradar has agreed a deal with Major League Baseball to improve the competition’s scouting and player selection processes.
MLB and its 30 clubs will gain access to player analysis and insights through Sportradar’s Synergy Coaching and Scouting solution.
The offering transforms data points from video into detailed metrics and actionable insights and will be combined with Sportradar’s artificial intelligence-powered sports performance technology.
The result will be an “in-depth” analysis of every player, play and game situation, Sportradar said, helping to guide draft decisions and support the development of future baseball players.
“Through Synergy we are pleased that we are expanding our relationship with MLB, equipping them with the deep data and insights they need to identify the next generation of players. We are eager to continue bringing innovative solutions to MLB,” said Eduard Blonk, chief commercial officer at Sportradar.
John D’Angelo, MLB’s senior vice president of amateur and medical operations, said: “We are excited to expand our relationship with Sportradar and ensure equal access to the Synergy video and data services for all 30 MLB Clubs.
“This platform has become a key resource for Clubs in the domestic and international scouting process and we look forward to continuing our work with Sportradar in the coming years.”
