Committees of the Chubut Legislature met to begin evaluating initiatives aimed at regulating online gambling and updating the functions of the IAS.
Argentina.- As national legislation progresses aimed at controlling underage betting, each province proposes its own regulatory framework.
In this regard, the Chubut Legislature met yesterday, Tuesday, November 19, the General Legislation, Culture and Education Committees; Social Legislation, Health and Labor; and Budget and Finance, to analyze the bill numbers 239/24 and 240/24.
Authorities from the Social Assistance Institute (IAS) led by its president, Ramiro Ibarra, participated in the meeting in the legislative chamber.
Bill number 239/24 aims to modify the law creating the provincial body, while bill number 240/24 regulates online gambling with the aim of combating illegality and protecting the most vulnerable sectors of society.

When presenting the project, the Executive Power explained that it submits for consideration the initiative that proposes to "ABROGATE the Law of the Social Assistance Institute of the Province of Chubut", observing that "some current articles are obsolete, and that, moreover, the social reality and dynamics highlight the need for modification".
In the text, the provincial Executive explains that this project seeks to "optimize resource allocation, promoting efficient and transparent management, based on the current management guidelines and social policies assumed by this Government".
