Sportradar announced on Thursday (21) a multi-year agreement with Major League Baseball (MLB) to provide performance analysis of amateur baseball players through the Synergy Coaching and Scouting solution. The partnership aims to revolutionize talent identification using Sportradar technology and reinforces the commitment to providing innovative and transformative solutions for MLB.
With the agreement, MLB and its 30 clubs will have access to detailed player analysis and insights, as well as a significant expansion in event coverage, which will increase from 3,300 to over 20,000 games – an increase of more than 600%.
The coverage includes college competitions, international, professional partner leagues, and major amateur leagues, such as the MLB Draft League, the Appalachian League, and events from the MLB Develops program. For the first time, high school events will also be part of the analysis.
The Synergy Coaching and Scouting solution was strategically designed to meet the player evaluation needs of MLB. It leverages Sportradar's expertise in collecting and transforming millions of video data into detailed metrics, practical insights, and dynamic visualizations.
Combined with the company's AI-based sports performance technology, Synergy provides deep and accurate analysis of each player, play, and game situation. This allows MLB scouts and their clubs to streamline the evaluation process, make more accurate draft decisions, and support the development of future talents for the league.
