Beau Rivage Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi, has issued a public warning that numerous fraudulent advertisements claim the casino now offers online gambling services.
These ads reportedly appeared earlier this week on Facebook and other social media platforms and are completely fake, unaffiliated with the casino.
About 40 ads have been found on Facebook, with evidence suggesting similar posts on Instagram and Messenger.
The advertisements claim that Beau Rivage has officially gone online and promises a $1,000 welcome bonus and free spins.
To create a false sense of authenticity, scammers used stolen Beau Rivage logos, casino images, and fake slot machine tickets.
Mary Cracchiolo, the Director of Public Relations for the Beau Rivage Casino area, confirmed that these ads are a scam, and the casino's legal team is actively investigating their origin.
Jay McDaniel, Executive Director of the Mississippi Gaming Commission, noted that such scams typically originate from offshore operators that are difficult to track or prosecute.
Aside from in-casino sports betting, online gambling remains illegal in Mississippi.
It is worth noting that Beau Rivage offers the BetMGM app, which allows guests to place sports bets on-site; however, this app cannot be used outside the casino.
Consumers are advised to act cautiously and look out for signs of false advertising. Warning indicators include links that do not lead to the Beau Rivage official website, abbreviations of the casino name, or posts not found in the casino's verified social media accounts.
These false advertisements lead users to unauthorized gambling platforms and remain active, enticing unsuspecting individuals to spend money on illegal games.
While authorities and Beau Rivage work to address this issue, the public is urged to remain vigilant and avoid engaging with suspicious advertisements.
