The operation was driven by a complaint from the Gambling Regulatory Entity of Salta.
Argentina.- After several investigations, the intervention of the criminal prosecutor's office of Metán, Salta province, and with the collaboration of the Salta Police, the closure of two tombola agencies in El Galpón was carried out.
These agencies aimed to capture online bets from the illegal platform “Celuapuestas”. At the official agency 357/1, owned by Esteban Caillou, the illegal loading of online bets was discovered "in flagrante".
The complaint was filed by the Regulatory Entity of Gambling (EnReJa), which is advancing in the investigation of a complex illegal network of online casinos operating in the province of Salta.

Within the framework of the third working table on «Prevention and awareness of virtual gambling and online betting» in the province of Salta, the results of the study ‘’Betting is not a game’’, conducted by the University of Buenos Aires, were presented.
The research was directed by university professor Martín Romeo, and was coordinated in Salta by the Provincial Youth Agency, through its director Tane Da Souza.
During the investigation, more than 9,000 voluntary surveys were conducted nationwide, to understand the impact of virtual betting on young people. The results from the province of Salta are based on a sample of 4,208 people.
