Fishermen in the Veal Veng district of Pursat city, Pursat province, found a suspicious sack along the Mekong River and immediately reported it to the police. The police quickly arrived at the scene, retrieved the sack from the river, and discovered a body inside.
Due to severe swelling of the body, the gender could not be immediately confirmed, and the police contacted a forensic expert to perform an autopsy.
After a professional forensic examination, the deceased was identified as a male, approximately 30 years old, with distinct tattoos on his chest and signs of blunt force trauma to the head.
However, no items that could be used to confirm the identity were found on the body. After the autopsy, the body was sent to the Pursat Provincial Hospital, waiting for family members to identify it.
As of now, the identity of the deceased has not been determined.
The police initially speculated that the victim might have been killed elsewhere, placed in the sack, and thrown into the river in an attempt to dispose of the body.
The police are currently intensifying their investigation into the case and are urging any family members of a missing male with tattoos on his chest to contact them to assist in the investigation.
