In a decision released this Monday (25), the Public Ministry of Pernambuco (MPPE) states that the activities of Esportes da Sorte are lawful and requests partial archiving of the investigation against the company. MPPE also made the same decision regarding the singer Gusttavo Lima and José André da Rocha Neto, owner of the company VaideBet, former sponsor of Corinthians.
One of the excerpts from the decision states that the "Public Ministry of Pernambuco requests the ARCHIVING of the investigation regarding the conducts reputed as money laundering crime, which have as a preceding criminal offense the indication of the practice of sports betting and online games promoted by Esportes da Sorte, due to the lack of just cause for the exercise of criminal action, due to the atypicality of the conduct".
The decision attests that the activities of Esportes da Sorte, owned by Darwin Henrique da Silva Filho, are lawful and requested partial archiving of the investigation against the company.
MPPE also requested the archiving of part of the investigation involving the singer Gusttavo Lima and José André da Rocha Neto, owner of the company VaideBet, former sponsor of Corinthians.
The police investigate possible criminal actions involved in the hiring of digital influencers by the bets, online betting houses.
The request for archiving is based on the regulation of online betting, which, in the understanding of the MP, eliminates the indication of money laundering for which the singer was investigated.
In the understanding of prosecutor Mariana Pessoa de Melo Vila Nova, there is no evidence that the singer or the businessman have committed a crime. The wife of José André da Rocha Neto, Aislla Rocha, also had her complaint archived.
