The Pasay City Police recently launched a rescue operation and successfully freed a Chinese national who was illegally detained.

It is reported that the case originated from a debt dispute, and the suspects are also Chinese citizens.

Colonel Samuel Pabonita, the chief of Pasay City Police, revealed that the case was reported around 8 PM on Tuesday. A 51-year-old informant, Lucila, reported to the police that someone was forcibly detained in a building in Newport City, Pasay.

Following the report, Pabonita quickly assigned officers from the 9th precinct to take action. The police eventually found the 35-year-old victim, Peng, in a residence at Barangay 183 in Newport City and arrested two suspects on the spot. The suspects are tentatively identified by the aliases "Jun" and "Chen".

Preliminary investigations show that the case stemmed from the victim's failure to repay debts, leading the suspects to illegally detain him. The suspects are now detained at the Pasay City Police Station and will face charges of illegal detention.

The case has been transferred to the Pasay City Prosecutor's Office for further handling, and legal proceedings are underway.

The Pasay police remind the public that any form of illegal detention is a serious violation of the law, and urge those with information to report to the police in a timely manner to help maintain public order.
