Online sports betting revenue in Kentucky, US, dropped over 60 per cent in October.
The latest reporting period for the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission reflects the first full monthly year-on-year comparison for online sports wagering after it went live at the end of September 2023.
Revenue dropped from US$52.7m to $18.7m, down 64.6 per cent.
However, as with many other US states in October, the fall in revenue did not reflect a drop in customer activity.
Online sports betting handle fell by 7.6 per cent from $286.9m a year ago to $265.1m.
As for online sports betting taxes in Kentucky, they fell 60.5 per cent year-on-year from $7.5m to $2.96m.
On the retail side, sports betting revenue was $125,770, falling from $1.06m in October 2023.
