Sportradar, a global leader in sports technology, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Public Prosecutor's Office of Goiás (MP-GO). Under the terms of the partnership, both parties will exchange data and information to protect and maintain the integrity of sports in the State of Goiás.
The fight against match-fixing in sports has been a flagship issue for the entire sports betting market, clubs, federations, regulators, government bodies, and Sportradar, a company leading in this field.
Given the repercussions that match-fixing has had in Brazil, although there has been a decrease in suspicious cases, the Public Prosecutor's Office of Goiás (MP-GO), one of the first bodies to investigate this criminal practice, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sportradar.
With the partnership, the MP-GO and Sportradar will exchange data and information to protect and maintain the integrity of sports in the State of Goiás.
Felippe Marchetti, manager of integrity partnerships for Sportradar in Brazil, stated: "We are pleased to further expand Sportradar's Integrity Services in Brazil. Agreements like this with the MP-GO will help us reduce the threats of corruption related to betting in our ongoing fight for transparency in Brazilian sports.”
The partnership between the company and the Public Prosecutor's Office is another step towards working to curb criminal actions and ensure the fairness and unpredictability of sports outcomes, protecting clubs and federations and giving fans the assurance that everything happened on the field and not off it.
The agreement with Sportradar comes at a crucial time, as the Brazilian market prepares for the start of regulated sports betting operations from January 1, 2025.
Furthermore, it will allow the MP-GO to share information with other similar bodies and control bodies of sports betting activities in Brazil.
