A 15-year-old Chinese girl was found in Malaysia after going missing in Singapore, kidnapped by a fellow countryman.
The Johor police received a report and rescued the victim in Kuantan, arresting a 22-year-old Chinese man.
The case is under further investigation, and the man has been detained for 7 days. The police are investigating under the Child Sexual Offences Act and the laws related to the abduction of minors.
The victim has been sent to the hospital for a check-up and confirmed to be unharmed. The police urge those with information to come forward.
Additionally, another kidnapping incident occurred in Malaysia recently, where a Chinese man was kidnapped due to a debt dispute on his way to the airport. The kidnappers, who demanded 300,000 Malaysian Ringgit, were arrested after failing to get the ransom.
In foreign lands, the public, especially minors and international students, should be vigilant and ensure their safety to avoid becoming crime targets.
