According to Cambodian media, recently, several Chinese restaurants have opened in front of the Obaijin Market in the border port area of Uzu County, Bandeimengji Province, near the Cambodia-Thailand border.
Obaijin Village, Uzu County is located north of Pobei City and borders Sa Kaeo Province of Thailand.
Local residents say that there are currently four to five Chinese restaurants in front of Obaijin Market, which were not seen before. They attribute the emergence of these new restaurants to local economic development.
In the past, Obaijin Village was just a remote rural area, merely a transit point for people traveling between Pobei and Oddar Meanchey Province. Since the beginning of this year, including Chinese, foreigners have flocked here to set up shops and develop the economy.
It is reported that currently, to avoid crackdowns, the scam parks in Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville have relocated to the border areas. There are now several large scam parks at the Cambodia-Thailand and Cambodia-Vietnam borders. Insiders reveal that these scam parks are very large in scale and numerous, with some having over ten thousand personnel, and there are even larger parks with more than thirty to forty thousand people.
