Argentina.- The controller of the Lotería Correntina, Héctor Javier Bee Sellares, revealed that 200 new illegal online gambling sites were reported, which add to the 420 that had already been identified previously.
"These sites not only operate outside the law, but they also allow minors to access betting very easily," warned the controller, who added: "This phenomenon not only represents a challenge for the authorities, but also a real threat to the integrity and well-being of our youth. The fight against illegal gambling is a task that requires the collaboration of the entire society."
Bee Sellares emphasized the need to implement concrete measures to close access to these sites. "We have signed agreements with the Central Bank to ensure that the virtual wallets associated with these places no longer work. If there is nowhere to deposit or collect a bet, then that bet cannot exist," he explained. This proactive approach is essential to discourage clandestine gambling and protect vulnerable bettors.
Furthermore, the controller highlighted the importance of advancing in biometric controls and identification systems, such as fingerprints, to ensure that only authorized persons can place bets. "It is essential to know who is betting," he stated.

Bee Sellares also emphasized the difference between legal and illegal pages and the importance of bettors using the former: "The pages ending in .bet.ar are the only ones authorized to place bets. Any site .com.ar is illegal and could be a trap. This message is vital to educate bettors on how to navigate safely in a world where online gambling is constantly expanding," he said.
"In times where access to the Internet and mobile devices is almost universal, it is easy to fall into the temptation to participate in gambling activities without fully understanding the associated risks.
