The British Racing Club has announced that Betfair will return to Cheltenham Racecourse and sponsor three races on New Year's Day and two races on the Festival Trials Day, including the Grade 2 Betfair Cotswold Chase.
This partnership is part of the re-adjustment of Flutter Entertainment's racing sponsorship, with Betfair now becoming the focus of two races in January.
Betfair has long been committed to innovation and customer-first initiatives, and is delighted to support these popular racing days, which are an important step towards the Cheltenham racing days in March, with all races contributing points to the "David Powell Jockey Cup." This initiative supported by Flutter is currently causing a sensation at the National Hunt Racing Association.
Betfair Managing Director Richard Hayward commented today: "It's great to see Betfair re-sponsoring the home of steeplechase racing. This sponsorship is part of our ongoing commitment to support the racing industry, and adding these events to our existing product portfolio helps us create a clear sponsorship story throughout the national hunting season. Starting with the G1 Betfair Chase in November, we now have major racing days every month until the festival in March."
Racing Association Betting Company Partnership Manager Dan Glavin said: "It's fantastic that Betfair is returning to Cheltenham as the sponsor of these two racing days. Flutter has always been committed to the racing cause, and we are delighted that they continue to demonstrate their support through these popular events."
The New Year's Day races and the Festival Trials Day will feature a series of exciting races, laying the foundation for the drama and excitement of the 2024 Cheltenham Festival. The highlight of the Festival Trials Day is the Grade 2 Betfair Cotswold Chase, which has achieved brilliant results over the years, producing strong champions such as Neptune Collonges, Frodon, and Willie Mullins' team's 2024 champion Capodanno.
