The CEO of UpBet, Éder Ziomek, gave an exclusive interview to GMB about the current state of the company, approved to operate in the Brazilian iGaming market. Participating in an event on regulation promoted by CP Games, Ziomek stated that it is essential to discuss the topic and for the government to combat illegality. UpBet is integrating games from the developer and is confident that they will be well received by users.
Games Magazine Brasil – UpBet is one of the companies authorized to operate provisionally until December 31. How do you position yourselves in this pre-regulated market of sports betting and online games?
Éder Ziomek –
From our side, we have been working to provide maximum credibility and transparency to the customer, to the end user. And it's another step we are overcoming, which is regulation. We made the request before August 20, so we are in compliance with everything that the Betting Management System (Sigap) requested.
What was your goal in being present at a CP Games event talking about regulation and responsible gaming?
I think it's extremely important this exchange of opinions among operators, so that we can together combat illegality and various platforms that we know unfortunately continue to operate, even with the restrictions that the government is imposing. It is very positive for the market to unite and strengthen to combat this type of operation that does not bring legality and responsibility to the sector.
Talking a little about CP Games, we see that it is a new provider entering the market with great games. So, we have to be attentive to these games, understand if the customers are liking them to offer these products to the customers.
Is UpBet already offering CP Games' games on its platform?
We are in the process of integration to place CP Games' games on our platform. We had a visit from them at the office and that's when this relationship started and they made the invitation for us to come to the event.
If you are in the integration process, does it mean the games meet the expectations of the Brazilian user?
We believe so. We have analyzed the games a lot and they seem to be what the Brazilian public is interested in. And, from CP Games' side, they have been very available to understand which games the Brazilian public is interested in, so that they can develop them.
From a technical point of view, is UpBet ready for the new regulated market, with certifications and the entire platform adjusted to government rules?
We are ready. The update of the list of all tests with the Betting Management System (Sigap) has already been released. We were approved in all the tests of sending information to Sigap. All our technical part has already done this with the government system.
UpBet is only waiting for the final approval to make the payment of the grant and start operations on January 1. Did you opt to present only one brand or others along with UpBet?
We are pulling for three brands: UpBet, WJcasino, and 9d. These other two will start operating from January 1. Everything with all the information already being sent to SIGAP, within the law and following all the rules and regulations.
