The Social Action Fund received the Gold Mention at the Provincial Quality Award 2024.
Argentina.- The Social Action Fund of San Juan (CAS) has been awarded the Gold Mention in the public sector category at the 2024 edition of the Provincial Quality Award.
This recognition, granted by the Government of San Juan, highlights public and private organizations that implement quality management processes and commit to continuous improvement in the provision of goods and services.
Since April this year, the CAS reaffirmed its commitment to continuous improvement, prioritizing responsible, sustainable, efficient, timely, and innovative services. The process included the preparation of a comprehensive management report and the evaluation by a specialized team, in addition to successfully passing a certification audit conducted by IRAM between November 26 and 29, continuing an uninterrupted trajectory since its first certification in 2015.
The authorities of the CAS, Juan Pablo Medina, Nancy Castro, and Rolando Tello, expressed their deep gratitude for this award and extended congratulations to the entire team of the institution, whose dedication and effort were key to this achievement. "This award is a reflection of the collective work and the commitment to quality that characterizes us," they highlighted.
“The Social Action Fund continues to lead with excellence in its management, consolidating its position as a benchmark of quality in the provincial public sector,” stated the entity that regulates gambling in the province.
There is growing expectation in San Juan regarding the regulation of online gambling which could be approved in the Legislature before the end of the year, while, in parallel, the provincial gambling regulatory body struggles to eradicate sites that operate illegally.
The president of the Social Action Fund (CAS), Juan Pablo Medina, told the local media Diario Huarpe, that a division to fight illegal gambling has been created and that it has already detected 150 illegal online betting sites in San Juan.
Despite this, the official indicated that today he does not have the tools to combat them and that is why a bill has been presented to allow countering it. He also mentioned in the Café de la Política that there was consensus among all political actors for it to be approved as quickly as possible.
Medina explained the work they do from the agency to eradicate illegal gambling: “In the Fund, we created two divisions, one for social responsibility and responsible gambling and the other for fighting against illegal gambling. At this moment, the second division is working on detecting these online sites and has already identified 150 sites that operate in San Juan, but we cannot move forward due to the lack of regulations that allow us to do so”.
Regarding the bill that is advancing in the Legislature to regulate the activity, the official said: “The law that creates the Social Action Fund regulates and controls physical sites. The problem is that since the pandemic began, clandestine virtual games have proliferated, reaching young people and leaving them at the mercy of the unscrupulous who evade controls”.
