The Cyber Police Headquarters of Thailand, in collaboration with the investigative team, held a press conference announcing the successful crackdown on the criminal network involved with the online gambling site "Macua888" (also known as "Macau 888").

This operation was initiated by the directive of the Director-General of the Royal Thai Police, aimed at intensifying the crackdown on illegal online gambling activities.

The police discovered that the website had been engaging in online football betting and other gambling services for a long time, attracting a large number of Thai citizens.

The police conducted raids on 5 locations associated with the criminal gang, arresting 5 core members including the 28-year-old mastermind Angkri, along with 19-year-old financial manager Pumilapi, and 29-year-old financial officer Nirinya, among others.

In this operation, the Thai Cyber Police seized illegal assets worth over 110 million Thai Baht, including:

– A McLaren 720S sports car valued at 30 million Thai Baht

– A Lamborghini Urus valued at 25 million Thai Baht

– A Lexus LM350h valued at 7.59 million Thai Baht

– A Toyota Fortuner SUV

– High-end watches, including 4 Richard Mille, 3 Patek Philippe, and 1 Rolex, totaling 47.5 million Thai Baht

– Over 6 million Thai Baht in cash

– Designer bags, 3 Cartier bracelets, 28 Bearbrick figures, 2 firearms, 22 mobile phones, 11 sets of computer equipment, 43 bank passbooks, and 28 ATM cards

According to the police investigation, the gambling network had been operational for over 7 months, attracting more than 117,000 members, with an annual financial turnover exceeding 360 million Thai Baht.

The website, by mimicking the once-famous "Macau 8888" and altering the letter "a" to "u" in its name, aimed to confuse and attract more customers.

Currently, some of the suspects have admitted to their crimes. The police have legally prosecuted them, with charges including "organizing electronic gambling without a license" and "conspiring to commit money laundering." The cases will be further processed according to the law.
