The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in Palawan province office assisted in the payment of this amount as part of its comprehensive support for workers affected by the closure of internet gambling licenses.

These companies closed on November 30.

Ruth Terrible, a senior labor and employment officer at DOLE-Palawan, stated in a declaration: "We are closely working with Governor Marivic Martinez to verify the calculation of the severance payments and assist workers in claiming SSS (Social Security System) unemployment relief funds."

"This initiative highlights the labor department's commitment to prioritizing the welfare of unemployed workers, ensuring they receive their rightful benefits."

Some workers, especially those who have been employed for five years, received amounts ranging from 170,000 to 180,000 pesos, while other workers' compensation varied according to their years of service.

Terrible mentioned that six workers who were unable to participate in the relief fund collection will receive their claims in February next year.

About 400 employees have already received their severance payments in previous distributions.

In addition to financial claims, the labor department also provides support through livelihood programs and issues SSS unemployment relief fund certificates.

"Many who processed their SSS applications early have already received benefits ranging from 10,000 to 15,000 pesos," she noted.
