BC.Game has announced its decision to revoke its operating license in Curaçao.
Earlier this year, BC.Game had obtained a license in Curaçao, complying with the relatively new National Ordinance on Games of Chance (LOK) regulatory framework of the island.
The subsequent decision to revoke the license highlights the challenges still faced by operators in the region, due to outdated regulatory frameworks and insufficient legal protections, including loopholes in Curaçao's bankruptcy law dating back to 1931.
Despite ongoing efforts in Curaçao to improve iGaming legislation, BC.Game has pointed out that the increasingly hostile environment for operators in the region was a key factor in making this decision.
The revocation of the Curaçao license will not affect BC.Game's global operations. The platform holds gaming licenses in multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards in other regions.
BC.Game emphasizes that this decision is part of a broader strategy to align with stronger and more modern regulatory frameworks, better support international operations, and enhance user safety.
BC.Game states that exiting Curaçao is aimed at strengthening its operational foundation and ensuring long-term sustainability.
