The New York State Gaming Commission has released the financial data for sports betting and commercial casino gambling for November in the state.
Mobile Sports Betting
During November (which includes Thanksgiving), the NFL games on that day had high viewership, and the total gaming revenue (GGR) for mobile sports betting was $231.6 million, a 53.5% increase year-over-year.
This total is also the highest figure for the state's mobile sports betting since the market first launched in January 2022, with the previous record being in January 2024, when the GGR was $211.5 million.
The turnover was $2.27 billion, the second highest in the state's history, lower than the $2.32 billion in October, but 7.4% higher than in November 2023.
Among individual operators, FanDuel led with a turnover of $921.2 million and total gaming revenue of $102.6 million.
Worth noting: Michael Mulgrew, president of the United Federation of Teachers (UFT), has expressed opposition to the Times Square casino proposal.
Commercial Casinos
Meanwhile, the four commercial casinos in the Empire State generated a total gaming revenue of $56.9 million in November, up 5.1% year-over-year, with Rivers Casino and Resort having the highest gaming revenue at $17.8 million.
As expected, the largest portion of total gaming revenue came from slot machines and electronic gaming terminals, generating $40.3 million, while table games brought in just under $15 million, and poker table gaming revenue was $954,211. Meanwhile, sports betting gaming revenue was $639,773.
The total net revenue for the operators for the month was $43.1 million, with gaming taxes amounting to $13.7 million.
Another major performance news this week is that the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) announced Macau's total gaming revenue (GGR) for November, which grew 14.9% compared to November 2023.
