The Danish gambling regulator has reported a 43 per cent uptick in gaming spend for October, driven by the rebound of sports betting year-on-year.
Betting spend rose by 307.7 per cent to DKK208m (£23.1m) after reaching only DKK51m (£5.7m) in October 2023.
That steered the overall spend hike to DKK617m (£68.5m), up from DKK432m (£47.95m) a year ago.
Land-based casino spend in Denmark rose 23 per cent from DKK24m (£2.7m) to DKK30m (£3.3m), the regulator Spillemyndigheden said.
Online casino spend climbed 9.7 per cent from DKK259m (£28.7m) to DKK284m (£31.5m).
Gaming machines spend was in fact the only sector where spend fell year on year – down 2.4 per cent from DKK98m (£10.88m) to DKK95m (£10.5m).
