The QuadComm (House Quadrilateral Committee) will propose criminal and administrative charges against approximately 10 individuals, related to deaths during the drug war under former President Rodrigo Duterte and crimes associated with Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO).
Barbers hinted that key agencies such as the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Office of the Ombudsman, and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) might appear in QuadComm's progress report.
"This is a hint of the recommendations we will report next week," he added.
Barbers also confirmed that the Quadrilateral Committee's progress report will include its preliminary recommendations, scheduled to be submitted at next week's plenary session. "The number of people recommended for charges is less than 15, likely close to 10," he said.
The representative added that the criminal and administrative cases they recommend charging include individuals still in public office, as well as those who have retired or recently retired from government.
He declined to provide specific details about the cases, stating, "If I told you about these cases, then you would already know. So I won't say for now."
In addition to recommending charges, Barbers also revealed that the Quadrilateral Committee will propose 15 remedial legislations.
These proposals are based on the committee's 12-day investigation into the drug war deaths and crimes related to POGO.
"We have over 15 new remedial laws [to propose], all of which are the product of our investigation," Barbers said.
