The idea is to promote private capital investment in inland localities, creating jobs, boosting tourism, and economically empowering them.
Argentina.- The Córdoba Lottery announced a new tender for its spaces in different inland provincial cities, with the goal of "economically empowering them and giving them a new tourist boost." The cities affected by this new measure are: Alta Gracia, Cruz del Eje, and Río Ceballos.
This is a process that will include the concession of hotels, casinos, and gaming machines (slots), with the aim of “further boosting and empowering the tourist, economic, and recreational activities of the inland province, giving greater strength to the developments and activities in the municipalities,” the institution reported.
According to reports, the process begins because “90 percent of the stipulated time of the previous concessions has already been executed,” for a term of 20 years with a possibility of a 5-year extension for the new awardees. “These actions will serve to promote local development, investments in tourist and recreational infrastructure in the cities of Alta Gracia, Río Ceballos, and Cruz del Eje,” adds the statement from the Lottery.
In the case of the city of Alta Gracia, the Sierras Hotel will be included, which currently has 26 rooms, with plans to double its capacity, the slot rooms, and the Casino, adding the construction of a Convention space with a projected minimum area of 2,200 square meters.
“This initiative is welcomed for our city, as it will not only improve economic development but will also give us the opportunity to add more hotel rooms which are very necessary for Alta Gracia due to sports, religious, gastronomic, and cultural events, making an investment of this magnitude essential,” highlighted Mayor Marcos Torres Lima.
In Río Ceballos, private investment will be promoted for the construction and reopening of the Casino room, which is currently closed, “modernizing its hotel capacity, which currently has 40 rooms and the construction of a convention room equipped with the latest generation audiovisual technology.”

The same model will be implemented in the city of Cruz del Eje, foreseeing significant economic movement for the northwest region of Córdoba. “This is a great opportunity for the development and growth of Cruz del Eje as it will generate new job sources and will enable the region to have a high-category hotel with training rooms and a convention center,” said Renato Raschetti, mayor of the northwestern city of Córdoba.
