The provincial entity denied the request from the chamber of agents to suspend penalties, and progress is being made in modifications to the punishment system.
Argentina.- Members of the executive committee of the Chamber of Official Lottery Agents and Related Bonaerense (CAOLAB) held a meeting with the legal director of the Provincial Institute of Lotteries and Casinos (IPLyC) Buenos Aires, Sebastián Silvestre and the director of games of the same entity, Mónica Vicente, with the aim of requesting a suspension of the sanction regime for debit exits, established in article 86 of the permit holders' regulations.
As stated by CAOLAB in the note presented to the IPLyC last November 29, "the current regime of terminal locks for more than five debit exits is causing enormous economic damage, both due to days of inactivity and loss of customers due to the discontinuity of the service and loss of trust in the agency."
For this reason, the agents promoted this meeting with the authorities, and although their main request was rejected, an agreement was reached to advance in some modifications. "A suspension of sanctions for debit exits was requested. Given the refusal to our request, it was agreed to change the system of penalty of terminal locks, similar to the previous one, without suspension of the same, which is causing so much damage to the agents," explained CAOLAB.
At the beginning of this month, CAOLAB made another request to the provincial authorities. In a letter signed by the president of the entity, Marcelo Iglesias, a readjustment of the terminals of all branches was demanded to allow, dynamically, the deposit of the collection from the official Lottery agents.
As stated in the note, "the incorporation of higher denomination bills, AR$10,000 and recently AR$20,000, allows reducing the direct costs of the BCRA and the operational costs of the financial system as a whole, but this is not being the case in the network of self-service terminals of Banco Provincia". The chamber indicates that "the agents are seriously harmed, given the loss of time and impossibility of depositing all the collected for the province of Buenos Aires in higher denomination bills."
