Currently, traffic police and PNP officers will immediately stop you to check if you are Chinese. If identified as Chinese, they will detain you for immigration investigation. Yesterday, I personally experienced being stopped and investigated three times, fortunately, my legal status prevented me from being detained.
At OKADA, before entering the highway, the traffic light area is where they stop if they see Chinese. Also, they are detaining people under the new Shuanglong Bridge, and in two other places near the shore area, police are approaching Chinese to potentially extort money. Another location under investigation for Chinese nationals is near SM.
