With the end of the R$ 27.5 million annual contract with the betting house Parimatch, Botafogo is aiming for a new master partnership for 2025. Recent achievements in the Brasileirão and Libertadores are favorable to attract investors willing to offer higher amounts. The board is already negotiating with companies, especially from the betting sector, to surpass the Brazilian Championship revenue ranking.
The contract of Botafogo with its master sponsor, the sports betting house Parimatch, ends this month and before the last game of the Brasileirão, on Sunday (8), the company made a publication on its social networks in a farewell tone to Alvinegro.
After the match, Thairo Arruda, CEO of SAF of Botafogo, spoke to the channel “Opinião Fogo Play“ about the end of this cycle and the search for a new sponsor: “It was two years that they bought our project, when we were nothing, when we only had a PowerPoint to show and a growth plan, and they bought this idea. Today, we are lifting the trophy together. I think there could not have been more success possible than this union between Parimatch and Botafogo”, he said.
“For next year, we are in talks with several companies, obviously betting houses, which is where the greatest attractiveness lies nowadays for clubs. We have talked a lot, I have been personally involved along with the club's commercial director, Rafael Ganem, and I hope to have something to announce by the end of the year, to start 2025 already with a new partnership”, he concluded.
The two-year agreement with Parimatch yielded R$ 27.5 million per year to the Glorioso. The club's intention now is to secure a more advantageous contract, as currently the club holds only the ninth position in the annual revenue ranking with master sponsorship of the teams that competed in the Brasileirão.
The club's hope is that the achievements of the Brazilian Championship and Libertadores attract companies interested in investing more in the club.
Champion and runner-up in search of new partners
Botafogo and Palmeiras are going through similar moments: the search for a new master sponsor that invests higher values in the club.
In the case of the team from São Paulo, however, the agreement with the new partner is already verbally agreed and should be announced, according to journal Lance!, in 2025, during the launch of the new club uniform. The new sponsor will be the betting house Sportingbet, which will invest a fixed amount of R$ 100 million per season, with the possibility of bonuses for sports goals, which can raise the amount to up to R$ 150 million annually.
With a duration of four years, the new agreement includes clauses for adjustment in the values based on the inflation rates of Brazil and will cover both the men's and women's teams.
The partnership with Sportingbet puts Palmeiras closer to the top of the ranking, which is currently occupied by Flamengo. The Rubro-Negro receives R$ 105 million per year from Pixbet, its master sponsor.
Today, Palmeiras receives R$ 81 million fixed per year from the agreement with Crefisa and FAM (Faculdade das Américas), a value that can jump to R$ 120 million with sports bonuses provided in the contract.
