The Missouri Gaming Commission published the state’s latest riverboat casino figures this week, revealing more than $153 million in revenue for November, up 4 percent on the $147 million generated in the same month last year. However, year-to-date revenue remains down by around 1 percent compared with July through November 2023.
Nine of the state’s 13 casinos reported higher revenues compared year-over-year. Century Casino & Hotel Caruthersville, which recently moved inland, reported the most significant increase of 47 percent. It generated $5.3 million, compared to $3.6 million in November 2023. Century Casino & Hotel Cape Girardeau followed with a 19 percent rise, while Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City recorded the third highest year-over-year increase of 11 percent.
Bally’s Casino in Kansas City experienced the largest decline of 11 percent, despite the casino’s recent transformation. “This is probably one of the most unique projects that we’ve ever done in this application. It doesn’t even look like a boat,” engineer Paul Snustead said this month.
The other three casinos reporting decreases include Mark Twain Casino, Horseshoe St. Louis and Hollywood Casino St. Louis.
Most of the monthly revenue, around 83 percent, came from electronic gaming devices. These machines generated around $127 million in revenue, compared to $20.6 million from table games.
