NEXT.io has learned that Curaçao’s parliament intends to discuss the country’s gambling reform law on Monday 16 December.
The National Ordinance for Games of Chance (LOK) will be tabled for discussion early next week, according to a parliamentary schedule seen by NEXT.io.
This means the legislation, which has the stated aim of providing increased oversight to the world’s largest offshore gaming jurisdiction, will enter its final stages next week.
This includes by abolishing the old double-layered licensing system, in which the four historic master licenses sub-contracted out licenses to offshore operators which in practice faced far less stringent oversight than stated under the official regulations.
