Recently, authorities in Makati, Philippines, arrested a Taiwanese suspect allegedly linked to a notorious crime syndicate in Taiwan, seizing 85 high-performance weapons, including assault rifles and machine guns.
The 50-year-old suspect, Jiang Xiadong (alias Liu Mingzhong), was engaged in business activities. The suspect was arrested inside a shopping mall.
The search operation was authorized by a Makati city judge, and the police confiscated a large cache of weapons and ammunition from the suspect, including 53 revolvers, 13 5.56mm assault rifles, 12 pistols, 6 folding machine guns, one FN P90 submachine gun, gun kits, hundreds of bullets, various magazines, 3 silencers, and 4 pistol barrels.
The police stated that the suspect is believed to be involved in drug manufacturing, telecommunications fraud, and other criminal activities in the Philippines.
This suspect is not only wanted in the Philippines but also in other countries for illegal drug and other criminal activities. During a raid on his apartment in Makati, the police found dozens of firearms.
In March of this year, the police had executed a search warrant on the suspect's apartment. Although they did not capture him at that time, they arrested four undocumented immigrants. Currently, the suspect is detained in Makati city jail, awaiting further proceedings.
