San Juan Province in Argentina has passed a bill to regulate online gambling in the region.
The main purpose of online gambling regulation is to address a range of issues, such as combating illegal gambling, promoting responsible gambling, combating fraud, protecting minors under the age of 18, and preventing gambling addiction.
The legislation itself covers various forms of online gambling, such as lotteries, lotto, bets, and applies regardless of how the results are determined, whether by luck, skill, or a combination of both.
Worth noting: In December 2021, the city of Buenos Aires and the province of Buenos Aires began online gambling activities.
The House of Representatives of San Juan also noted in a press release that illegal gambling refers to those who intend to conduct online gambling without obtaining authorization to do so, or those who have a license but do not have proper authorization for a specific game or do not comply with the laws of the license itself.
In other news from Latin America, the Minister of Treasury Bonuses and Betting, Regis Dudena, confirmed that Brazil has started to finalize the first batch of 71 online gambling applications, in order to launch a regulated market next month.
