A South Korean man fell to his death in Phnom Penh while trying to evade police arrest, suspected of kidnapping and extortion.

A kidnapping and extortion incident involving a South Korean citizen occurred in the Sangkat area of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The victim was successfully rescued, but a South Korean suspect tragically died after falling from a building during the escape.

According to reports, the police confirmed that the suspect who died from the fall was a 27-year-old South Korean man named YU MIN, and the victim was a 33-year-old South Korean man named YU TAE JUN, who worked at a casino.

The incident occurred at around 6 PM on the 15th. The police were alerted by the community security that a man with handcuffed hands had escaped from a house balcony, and a suspect was chasing after him trying to capture him back.

The victim then screamed for help, and the security personnel quickly went to the scene and intervened. The suspect tried to flee into a nearby building and fell from the fourth floor, resulting in his immediate death.

The forensic report indicated that the cause of death for the suspect was multiple traumas to the head and back. The police stated that the victim was unharmed in this incident but had paid a ransom of 6,000 USD.

After the incident, the police investigated the house where the victim was kidnapped and found handcuffs, screwdrivers, and iron bars at the scene. Currently, the victim has been taken to the police station to assist with further investigations.
