The Netherlands Gambling Authority (KSA) has announced the launch of a new campaign "Restart Life, Stop Gambling" aimed at raising awareness of the risks associated with gambling and promoting the use of the Cruks self-exclusion registry.
The campaign officially started today, building on the success of a pilot program in 2023.
A key finding from the pilot was that the term "quit gambling" resonated strongly with the target audience, prompting its continued use in the current campaign.
This updated effort focuses on attracting young people, a group considered particularly vulnerable to losing control over their gambling habits.
To effectively reach these audiences, the campaign primarily utilizes social media platforms (including Google, YouTube, Meta, and Snapchat) rather than relying on traditional mass media.
The focus is on showcasing the positive outcomes of quitting gambling and highlighting real-life stories of young people reclaiming their lives through online videos and social ads.
The Cruks self-exclusion registry is central to the campaign, serving as a tool designed to help individuals manage their gambling habits by voluntarily excluding themselves from gambling activities.
By raising awareness of Cruks and its benefits, the KSA aims to provide practical solutions for those struggling with gambling addiction.
