In the Kawit area of Cavite Province, Philippines, a joint operation by government departments has officially shut down the largest Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) center in the Philippines.
The center is located on a 33-hectare estate, comprising 58 buildings.
This operation was carried out jointly by the Ministry of Interior, the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), the Department of Justice, the Bureau of Immigration, the Philippine National Police (PNP), and the local government of Cavite Province, among other agencies.
This closure marks an important step by the Philippine government in combating illegal POGO activities and regulating the industry.
According to official sources, the POGO center that was shut down had long been a target of government crackdowns due to its involvement in illegal activities. Relevant departments will continue to take measures to eradicate such illegal operations, ensuring national security and social order.
This action also indicates that the Philippine government is firmly implementing its decision announced this year to completely shut down the POGO industry, aiming to address the social security issues and crime risks associated with the industry.
