The governor of Sihanouk Province, Moeun Sinan, in an interview with over 30 media reporters, detailed the new measures taken by the provincial government to strengthen public security and combat online gambling.
Moeun Sinan stated that as part of the "Rural Safety" policy, Sihanouk Province has initiated a unified command center, mobilizing police and gendarmes to patrol 24 hours a day to ensure safety and stability within the jurisdiction.
He emphasized that the government will intensify efforts to crack down on online gambling and other criminal activities to maintain public order.
In recent years, Sihanouk Province has frequently become the focus of social media and some media reports due to issues such as online gambling, illegal immigration, and human trafficking.
In response, Moeun Sinan pointed out that Sihanouk Province has become a hotspot for illegal activities, especially frequent cases of online gambling.
In light of this situation, the seventh government led by Prime Minister Hun Manet has ordered relevant authorities to strengthen investigations and law enforcement to ensure the restoration of public security in the province and to take strict measures against these cross-border criminal activities. He stated that Sihanouk Province will continue to strengthen cooperation with other provinces and cities to ensure the ongoing and effective work against online gambling and other illegal activities.
