The alliance was driven by the Financial Information Unit and seeks to improve the fight against money laundering, terrorism financing, and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
Argentina.- In a joint effort to enhance the fight against money laundering, terrorism financing, and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, the Financial Action Task Force of Latin America (GAFILAT) and the Argentine Chamber of Casino Rooms, Bingos, and Annexes (CASCBA) have signed a cooperation agreement.
The agreement, promoted by the Financial Information Unit (UIF) and GAFILAT, enables CASCBA members to access specialized training courses and activities hosted on the GAFILAT Campus platform. This action aims to bring training opportunities to strengthen effective actions in the fight against money laundering, terrorism financing, and the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
Users will be able to access the Campus courses aimed at the private sector of the prevention, detection, and combat system against ML/TF/WMD grouped under the profile "Obligated Subjects".
The signing of the agreement took place with the presence of Esteban Fullin, Executive Secretary of GAFILAT; Eugenio Curia, national coordinator for the Combat of ML/TF/WMD; Ricardo Benedicto, president of the Argentine Chamber of Casino Rooms, Bingos, and Annexes and Javier Fernández, Chief of Staff of UIF.
The initially enabled trainings will be: Comprehensive course on the 40 recommendations of the FATF and introduction to the Evaluation Methodology; Virtual Assets and Virtual Asset Service Providers; Preventive Measures and Regional Typologies of ML/TF from GAFILAT 2019-2020; Regional threats in terms of ML in Latin America; Politically Exposed Persons; Reporting of Suspicious Operations; Risk Self-Assessment; Training and Awareness in Prevention of Money Laundering.
These trainings are aimed at improving the capabilities of the private sector to prevent, detect, and combat illicit activities, aligning with the 40 recommendations of the International Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

The alliance will allow CASCBA to strengthen its commitment to regulatory compliance and the professionalization of the gaming industry in Argentina. Among the highlighted courses are topics such as:
