Malaysian media revealed that a Chinese man fell into a job scam two years ago and was deceived to the Philippines where he became a "piglet". He was abused and tormented by members of an online gambling fraud gang for a long time, resulting in him becoming disabled, unable to bend his limbs or walk normally!
He later sought help from the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and law enforcement agencies, and recently returned safely to Malaysia. He earnestly advises Malaysian youths not to easily believe in part-time job advertisements online.
According to a video released by the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, You Shuhan, a victim from Sarawak, shared his tragic experience of being "sold as a piglet" two years ago, using his own disabilities as a warning to young Malaysians not to believe in high-paying recruitment scams online.
You Shuhan revealed that after being deceived to the Philippines in April 2022, he was forced to engage in online fraud. At that time, when he realized that the recruitment information did not match the actual job, he refused to cooperate with the fraud and was locked in a small room by members of the online fraud group, where he was beaten and oppressed for a long time.
"I hope to take this opportunity to tell all Malaysians not to easily believe in online recruitment jobs, because many times they are scams. The lucky ones might be able to return to their country, otherwise they might die abroad."
He expressed his sincere gratitude to his father and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Datuk Seri Mohamed Hassan, for rescuing him.
He said that before going to the Philippines, he could walk like a normal person, but now he can no longer walk normally, his hands can no longer bend freely, and his wrists bear scars from being tightly handcuffed.
"This is a lifelong defect for me, and I hope that after seeing my experience, no one will believe any high-paying recruitment advertisements again."
In the second half of 2021, due to the Chinese government's card-cutting action and strong repatriation efforts, coupled with the COVID-19 lockdowns that almost prevented people from leaving the country, high-paying recruitment fraud groups in Southeast Asia turned their attention to Chinese-speaking populations such as those from Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Malaysian Chinese, Vietnamese Chinese, and Indonesian Chinese, especially targeting the relatively larger population of Taiwanese Chinese.
The Malaysian Chinese mentioned today was obviously deceived to the Philippines at that time. Apart from not being abused to the point of disability, this victim was only rescued and returned home in the second half of this year, which can be considered extremely unlucky.
The online gambling fraud park that detained him for two years is definitely one of the relatively larger parks, such as Guo Huaping's Baofu Park, Wu Duanren's No. 3 Park, and Wang's Kamidi Gambling Island, etc.
