Hollywood Casino will ask the Unified Government to approve plans for a new hotel Thursday night.
The casino had received STAR bonds and promised to bring a 250 room hotel to the region within two years after it first opened in Kansas City, Kansas more than a decade ago but it never happened.
The new hotel proposal will only have 125 rooms.
The exchange for the smaller hotel, Hollywood Casino is offering to give $350,000 more every year to local charities.
