The first Guide to Responsible eSports was launched this Friday (20) by the Association of Brazilian Information Technology Companies (ASSESPRO - RJ). Organized by its VP of games and eSports, Carlos Gama, and with the support of the Brazilian Association of Fantasy Sports (ABFS) and the State Federation of Rio de Janeiro for Electronic Sports (FERJEE), the document aims to establish clear guidelines and preventive measures to ensure the integrity of competitions and transparency for bettors.
The Vice President of Games and eSports at ASSESPRO-RJ, Carlos Gama, commented: “The regulation of fixed-odds betting, the bets, starting from January 1st, marks an important milestone in the gaming market in Brazil. Finally, bettors will have the necessary security and transparency to participate legally in this type of activity.
“This new regulation brings with it a series of benefits, such as the guarantee of fair payments and the fight against illegality in the sector. In addition, the sports betting market is expected to grow significantly, bringing business opportunities and jobs to the country.

The Guide to Responsible eSports is a joint effort of consultants from the betting, digital culture, and Electronic Sports areas:

And institutional support from ABFS Brazilian Association of Fantasy Sports, ASSESPRO-RJ, State Federation of Rio de Janeiro for Electronic Sports, and Peck Institute for Digital Citizenship.
The purpose of the guide is to establish clear guidelines and preventive measures to ensure the integrity of competitions and transparency for bettors.

Result manipulation is a growing concern worldwide, especially in the Electronic Sports scene, which has been growing exponentially in recent years.
The Guide to Responsible eSports will be an important step towards gathering best practices and recommendations to promote a safe and fair environment for all involved.
