The Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam has recently issued a stern warning against those who disguise themselves as charitable organizations to promote illegal gambling.
These criminals cleverly wear uniforms emblazoned with logos of gambling websites and visit various restaurants and shops, attracting attention with free plastic cups, containers, umbrellas, and other items prominently featuring logos of well-known gambling platforms such as okvip, shbet, 789, jun88, etc.
Outrageously, these so-called "charitable activities" are actually a covert advertising strategy aimed at promoting gambling behavior, subtly influencing social atmosphere and public safety. Most links found online with these logos lead users to illegal online gambling platforms, undoubtedly posing a great risk to society.
The Ministry of Public Security particularly emphasizes that this behavior not only violates Vietnamese laws and regulations but also severely infringes on social morals. According to Vietnam's Advertising Law, advertising for gambling and other prohibited products and services is strictly forbidden, with violators facing fines up to 100 million Vietnamese dong, and in severe cases, imprisonment from 5 to 10 years.
Facing this trend, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam calls on the public to be vigilant and to identify and resist gambling advertisements disguised as charity.
Only by jointly maintaining the rule of law and safety in society can we protect our communities and families from the harms of gambling.
