The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) of the Philippines recently arrested a Chinese citizen in Makati City, who is suspected of being involved in drug trafficking.
The arrest was made during an undercover investigation, where law enforcement officers apprehended the suspect, identified only as "Tang," during a transaction.
It is reported that during the transaction, Tang was counting money inside a vehicle when the police undercover agents suddenly revealed their identities and arrested him. Upon searching, the police found drugs worth 70,000 pesos at the scene.
Further investigation revealed that Tang had previously worked for an offshore gaming operator (POGO) in the Philippines. After losing his job, he began providing drug sales services to foreign employees of POGO.
Currently, the Philippine authorities are further verifying Tang's identity information and his legal residency status in the Philippines, and plan to charge him under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
