North Star Network has acquired the Nigerian football blog Soccernet, which covers popular news and scores.
This supports North Star's initiative to expand into the Nigerian and overall African media landscape.
Julien Josset, co-founder of North Star Network, said: "We are thrilled to welcome Soccernet.ng into the North Star Network family.
"Their passion for Nigerian football and commitment to high-quality journalism perfectly align with our global vision of bringing fans closer to the games they love."
Worth noting: North Star Network includes over 20 sports media brands, such as Afrik Foot, Football Whispers, Cringe, Balon Latino, Esportelandia, and SportsMole.
Biyi Akangbe, founder of Soccernet.ng, said: "Ten years ago, we started as a small website dedicated to spreading news about Nigerian football players to our readers. Today, we have become a globally recognized reliable source of Nigerian football news, hence the acquisition by North Star."
"We are excited to see our hardworking journalists continue their efforts as part of an international group under this brand."
Following the acquisition, Soccernet co-founder Lolade Adewuyi will remain with the company as a columnist.
Soccernet has an international readership, with regular audiences from the UK, North America, Canada, and Spain.
