Betting on expanded gaming in Omaha and Lincoln appears to be paying off. It’s to the tune of millions of dollars in state gaming tax dollars.
According to the latest Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission numbers, since WarHorse Casino opened its doors at its Omaha facility in August it’s brought in nearly $5.2 million in tax revenue.
The Lincoln WarHorse Casino experienced its biggest month ever since opening its expansion in November. Lincoln’s WarHorse casino literally doubled down, with twice as much space. It added 10 table games and 400 more slot machines.
In one month, gaming revenues climbed to $6.9 million which not only smashed a facility record of $4.6 million but a state casino one as well.
